Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between CPR/AED and the full First Aid/CPR/AED course?

The CPR/AED course covers cardiac and breathing emergencies — CPR, AED use and choking. The full First Aid/CPR/AED course adds the first aid curriculum: bleeding control, wound care, burns, broken bones, and sudden illnesses such as stroke, seizure and allergic reaction. If your role means you may face any kind of injury, take the full course.

How long does this CPR training take?

Four hours. If you only need adult CPR/AED, that course runs three hours.

How long is the certification good for?

Two years from the date of completion.

Does CPR/AED training meet OSHA requirements?

Yes. Successful completion earns a valid American Red Cross digital certification that satisfies OSHA workplace requirements.
