Who this course is for

This is the workhorse course for most Michigan employers. If your workforce is adult and your obligation is to have trained responders on site, this covers it.

It is built for construction and industrial crews working under MIOSHA requirements, manufacturing and warehouse teams, office and facility safety responders, and any employer who needs designated first-aid personnel to satisfy OSHA.

If children are also in your environment — a school, a childcare centre, a camp — take the Adult and Pediatric version instead, which adds pediatric and infant care.

Frequently asked questions

Does this course meet the OSHA first aid requirement?

Yes. Successful completion earns a valid American Red Cross digital certification that satisfies OSHA workplace and other regulatory requirements, which is what MIOSHA expects to see from Michigan employers.

How long does the training take?

Four hours.

How long is CPR training good for?

Two years. You will need to recertify after that to remain compliant.

Should we take the adult-only or the adult and pediatric course?

Take adult-only if your workplace involves adults exclusively. If children are present — schools, childcare, camps, youth sports, or a family-facing business — take the Adult and Pediatric course, which adds care for children and infants.
