A one-hour online American Red Cross First Aid course, for people who want the knowledge without a classroom. Read the note below carefully before you choose it: this online-only course does not satisfy the OSHA workplace requirement.
This course suits individuals who want practical first aid knowledge for home, family or personal preparedness, and employees looking to refresh their understanding between certifications.
It is not the right course if you need OSHA-compliant workplace certification. Our online-only First Aid course does not meet the OSHA requirement. If your employer needs documented, OSHA-compliant first aid coverage — or if you are the employer trying to satisfy MIOSHA — you need one of our in-person First Aid/CPR/AED courses instead. We would rather tell you that up front than sell you a certificate that fails an inspection.
Worth noting: our Bloodborne Pathogens course does meet the OSHA requirement in both its online and in-person formats. The online limitation applies specifically to this First Aid course, because first aid competence requires hands-on skill assessment.
This online-only First Aid course does not. OSHA-compliant first aid certification requires hands-on skills assessment, which means an in-person course. If you need to satisfy OSHA or MIOSHA, take our Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course or one of the other in-person options. Our Bloodborne Pathogens course is the exception — it meets the OSHA requirement online or in person.
One year, compared with two years for our in-person First Aid/CPR/AED certifications.
For personal knowledge — parents, caregivers, and people who simply want to know what to do. It is genuinely useful. It just isn't a substitute for OSHA-compliant workplace certification, and we would rather be clear about that.
